Today, the Hotel Harmony Spindleruv Mlyn is a modern facility offering a wide range of services and amenities for your comfort. Our rooms have been completely renovated and are equipped with modern furniture and facilities. Guests can enjoy our modern wellness centre, which includes a swimming pool with whirlpools and a Sauna World with five types of saunas. For children, there is an Aqua Zone where they will have lots of fun. You will also find many indoor activities such as a bouldering wall, bowling, golf simulator, squash courts and two modern indoor tennis halls.
For conferences and corporate events we offer a large multifunctional conference room with modern technology that can accommodate up to 350 people.
A unique feature of our hotel is the fallout shelter, which was built in 1984 to serve as a government workplace in the event of a national emergency. The shelter is one of the most secretive projects in our country and today there is a permanent exhibition that guests can visit during their stay.

A short history of the hotel
The Harmony Hotel Špindlerův Mlýn, formerly known as the Harmony Club Hotel Špindlerův Mlýn, is an important example of late modern architecture of the late 1970s and early 1980s. The project was designed by renowned architect Jiří Řeřucha in 1977 and completed in 1980. The building was built according to a generous design by the Military Design Institute Prague, Pardubice studio, under the direction of Ing. P. Váňa.
Historical development
Since its opening, the hotel has been a symbol of quality architecture and modern accommodation. Although the interior has been modified in recent years, the interior circular staircase with stone steps, stainless steel railings and glass chandeliers has been preserved in its authentic form. One of the lounges is also preserved in its original form, including the furniture. The external design of the facades remains faithful to the original architectural and material design. In 2016, the exterior facades were restored while maintaining the original appearance and materials.
Unique elements
In 1984, a unique building began to be constructed on the premises of the former military training range, on the slope of Medvědín – a fallout shelter for 200 people, designed as a „government workplace during the state’s defence alert“. This shelter, which is part of today’s hotel, is a vast underground labyrinth. In addition to the many rooms, the five floors of the hotel contain a 12-metre swimming pool, several meeting rooms and lounges, as well as a number of secret corridors and rooms.
The greatest pride of the underground is the cinema room for two hundred people, which, in addition to screening, was used for emergency command meetings. Although it was built almost thirty years ago, the comfortable seats and equipment would be the envy of many contemporary cinema operators. Today, the original rooms and corridors of the bunker are only partially preserved, but visitors can peek into the former bedroom, the purification showers and the control room from where the maintenance staff still operate the air conditioning, electricity and water treatment plant.
A visit to this permanent exhibition is a unique opportunity to learn about a part of our recent history and the technical highlights of the time.

| BUNKR EXPOZICE | The exposition is one of the most secret projects in the Czech Republic. Visit our Museum and go back to 1984. Please contact our front desk for information. |
