Pétanque

A popular French game for two to six players divided into teams. The objective is to throw metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden target ball – known as the cochonnet (or “piglet”). .
The rules are simple, but the combination of strategy and throwing accuracy makes the game exciting and enjoyable for all age groups.
Brief rules
- Each team has 6 balls. A circle is drawn on the ground, where the player stands during their throw.
- The player throws the cochonnet to a distance of 6 to 10 meters and then tries to place their ball as close to it as possible.
- The team whose ball is farther from the cochonnet plays next, trying to get closer or to knock the opponent’s ball away.
- The round ends when all players have thrown all their balls.
- Points are awarded to the team whose balls are closer to the cochonnet.
- The winning team is the first to reach 13 points.
